Brightest Young Minds

If we brought together 100 of the most creative, energetic young minds in the country, do you think they could solve some of Australia's pressing problems?

Each year they do!

Not just another talkfest, Brightest Young Minds is a 5 day life-changing event that provides 18-25 year-olds with a platform to launch their own social initiatives and affect issues that they are personally passionate about- e.g. www.bipolarexpedition.org as an example from 2007

Facilitated by Hugh Evans, Young Australian of the year 2004, and including a sparkling line up of inspirational speakers, the summit to be held 6-10 July 2008 (university holidays) in Sydney, which includes fun social outings with great people, is not to be missed.

We want the very best emerging leaders from each discipline- from science to the arts, from politics to community service. If you think you have what it takes to make an impact on the future of Australia then apply; visit www.bym.com.au

Or email info@bym.com.au for more information.

BYM truly broke down so many mental barriers for me and showed me that I can make my life exactly what I want it to be - significant, not just successful."

The Vector is the Official magazine of the AMSA Global Health Network
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go, and what would you do? Would you cross the Indian Ocean and head to Africa? Or would you stay local and tackle the issues on home soil? What about going north to Asia?

From Leprosy to AIDS, to providing the basics, our students have travelled far and wide; globetrotting their way through the issues facing global health today. There is so much to do, and in the life of a medical student, it seems not much time. However, we hope to show you in this issue, what is possible, and what a few dedicated students have done to make the time, and make a difference. We hope to inspire you and advise you, as to what you can do to make your mark on global health. No effort is too small, and as you will see as you turn these pages – every effort counts.
